The 13U Jaguars dominated the field this year with a 9-0 record and over 400 points scored, including a 46-0 win over the Dolphins to capture the Tucson City Championship on Saturday morning.

The Tucson Youth Football and Spirit Federation (TYFSF) held championships all day at Pueblo High School with the Tucson Wildcats beating the Jaguars to win the 8U Championship, the Tucson Thunder beating the Wolverines for the 9U Championship, the Tucson Scorpions beating the Wildcats for the 10U Championship, the Wildcats Red beating the Scorpions to win the 11U Championship, the Tucson Scorpions beating the Redskins to win the 12U Championship and the Scorpions beat the Falcons to win the 14U Championship.

The Wildcats Red beat the Vikings White to win the Flag Championship three weeks ago.

The 13U Dolphins had minimal possessions against the Jaguars due to a string of successful onside kicks that kept the high-powered Jaguar offense on the field and a running clock in the second half due to a 40-lead also limited opportunities for the Dolphins.

Jeffrey Smith III put the Jaguars up 8-0 (Isaiah Tadeo Kick) with 5:50 left in the first on a short run and the Jake Bondi hit Ian Castellanos on a 56-yards strike to put the Jaguars up 16-0 with 3:40 left. Castellanos came up with an interception and Bondi followed that up with a 21-yard TD pass to Castellanos to make it 22-0 on the missed kick.

Maximus Alcoverde scored from 3-yards out to make it 28-0 in the second quarter and then Smith punched in a 1-yard dash to make it 34-0. Bondi found Jeremiah Johnson from 11 yards out for the 40-0 lead at the half. Issac Fierros scored from up close to make it 46-0 with 6:38 left in the game and that was also the final score with the Dolphins coming up short at the goal as time expired.

Smith finished with 161 yards rushing on 19 attempts with 2 touchdowns, Alcoverde had 100 yards rushing on 10 carries with a TD, Bondi went 10-13 through the air with 3 TDs, Castellanos had 107 yards receiving on 3 catches with 2 TDs, Anderson pulled 28 yards receiving with a TD, Roman Otero-Glaspie had 16 yards receiving, Jayvion Gilbert-Rojas rushed for 20 yards and Fierros had 11 yards rushing with a TD.

Peyton Strang took the snaps for the Dolphins with Brody Elicio and Ryan Luke in the backfield. Kane Collins caught an 8-yard pass.

The American Youth Football and Cheer – Desert Mountain Regionals start on Nov. 11 in Las Vegas.
