The Marana flag football team improved to 2-0 on the year after the team traveled to Mesa on Tuesday to beat Westwood 24-6. The Tigers will play at Queen Creek (1-2) next Tuesday, Westwood fell to 0-2 and the Warriors will play at Desert Vista (2-1) on Thursday.
Mountain View (1-0) had a bye on Tuesday (via a cancelled game) and the Mountain Lions will play at Copper Canyon (1-1) on Thursday.
“Things are starting to click, in no way did we play a perfect game but I’m happy to see the girls start working together,” Marana head coach Shaun Lara said. “If we start fixing the little things the sky is the limit, I’m very proud of these girls.”
