HISTORY
Sunnyside senior Audrey Jimenez won state championships in 2021, 2022 and 2023 in the girl’s tournaments and she is attempting to go for her fourth, but this time on the boy’s side, in the 106 weight class. She will be the only one at state, boy or girl, competing for a fourth state title.
In addition, Desert Vista sophomore Everest Leydecker took second place in 120 pound division at the Division I sectional held at Desert Vista. Former Chandler standout Stefana Jelacic took second place at the 2020 Division I, Section I, the same section Jimenez won.
