Marana senior receiver/safety Dezmen Roebuck broke the state record for career receptions with his 10 catches for 131 yards in the Tigers’ 36-28 win over visiting Gilbert Higley on Friday — a performance that merits him the Week 4 APS Digital Print/Frog & Firkin Player of the Week.
Roebuck also tallied nine tackles as a safety. .

Roebuck has 288 career receptions, which tops the previous state record of 282 held by Brandon Phelps of ALA-Gilbert North.
Phelps established the record from 2020-23. He is now a freshman at Arizona.
Roebuck has made a commitment to Washington and former Arizona coach Jedd Fisch.
He already held the state record for receptions in a season with 121 last year.
He is at 31 receptions this season for 352 yards with five touchdowns. He also has three interceptions.
