The Pueblo Warriors delivered a statement win Friday night, shutting out the Rio Rico Hawks 36–0 in a commanding performance that highlighted their strength, teamwork, and determination.

From the opening kickoff, Pueblo controlled the tempo as the Warriors won their fifth consecutive game to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the 4A Gila.

Quarterback Roman Otero led the Warriors’ offense with poise and precision, connecting on key plays that kept the Hawks’ defense on its heels. On the other side of the ball, Fernando Garcia anchored a tough defensive unit that refused to give Rio Rico (1-7, 0-3) any breathing room.

Pueblo coach Sylvester “Sly” Lewis credited his players for maintaining intensity throughout the game.

“We came out focused and executed our game plan,” Lewis said. “The defense set the tone, and the offense kept pushing. I’m proud of how our guys competed tonight.”

The Warriors dominated every aspect on offense, defense, and special teams showing why they remain one of the most disciplined and dangerous squads in the region. Their relentless energy and strong teamwork made the difference in this lopsided victory.

With this shutout win, Pueblo strengthens its standing heading into the final stretch of the season.

Pueblo will host rival Sahuarita (4-4, 3-0) for the region title on Friday. The Mustangs have won three consecutive games.
