
Salpointe Catholic graduate Bria Medina broke the career scoring record as a junior at Knox College on Saturday after producing a career-high 40 points in another game last Wednesday.
For her exploits, Medina was named the Midwest Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Knox is an NCAA Division III program in Galesburg, Ill.
In Saturday’s win over Webster, Medina broke the school’s career scoring record, tallying 27 points for 1,389 career points.
Medina also finished with eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals in the game.
Last Wednesday, Medina scored a career-best 40 points in Knox’s win over Illinois College. The 40 points are the second-most a Knox women’s basketball player has scored in a single game in program history.
Medina not only had a career-high in points but also season highs in made three-pointers (five), made field goals (12), minutes played (40), and assists (nine). Medina added five rebounds and five steals.
Kylee Callahan, a former teammate of Medina’s at Salpointe, is a senior with Knox.
