The Arizona Wildcats will be hitting the road to face Big 12 conference foe TCU with a midweek 13-3 run-rule win over New Mexico State in their bags.
Carson McEntire got the run party started for Arizona in the second inning with a 438-foot three-run homer to deep center field, his seventh home run on the season. He added a walk and two runs to his game stats.
McEntire also got the final out in the top of the third but ran into the center field wall, hitting his head during the catch. He stayed down for a bit, but eventually got up and walked off the field. McEntire was checked out by the staff and remained in the game.
A season high nine runs in the sixth inning put the possibility for a run-rule decision in play for the Wildcats.
The Aggies scored one run in the fourth and were able to add two more in the seventh inning in a comeback try but Maclain Roberts notched back-to-back strikes outs to end the game in the seventh inning by run-rule.
Jackson Forbes had a career high three hits and went 3 of 4 on the night with two RBIs, three runs and walked once.
Cash Brennan added two RBIs on two hits and a walk.
Nate Novitske went 1-for-5 with 2 RBIs and a run.
