Arizona’s acquisitions from Power 4 programs continues: Maryland’s Breanna Williams commits

Arizona coach Becky Burke continues to impressively draw transfers from Power 4 programs.

Breanna Williams, who recently completed her redshirt freshman season at Maryland under former Arizona standout Brenda Frese, has announced through Instragram that she is joining Frese’s alma mater out of the transfer portal.

After redshirting in 2024-25, Williams, a 6-foot-2 forward prospect from Billings, Mont., appeared in 24 games for the Terrapins this past season, averaging 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per contest. She shot 48.6% from the field and 72.2% from the free throw line.

Williams was a two-time Montana Gatorade of the year. She averaged 25.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.2 steals per game as a senior with Billings Skyview High School.

She was a part of two state championship teams at Skyview, and was a three-time first-team all-state selection and a three-time Class AA state tournament MVP.

Williams’ transfer announcement comes a day after USC forward Gerda Raulušaitytė, a Lithuanian, transferred to USC as a junior last season after playing previously for LCC International University in Lithuania in 2024-25.

Raulušaitytė averaged 2.2 points per game while shooting 48.1% from the field at USC. She averaged 2.8 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game. She had 10 starts out of 32 games with the Trojans.

She was part of the Lithuanian national program since the 2019 U16 Women’s European Championship with also experience at the U18 and U20 levels. She was part of the Lithuania senior national team last year.

Burke announced via social media Tuesday that former Cal point guard Aliyahna “Puff” Morris signed with the program after committing last week. Morris is a former McDonald’s All-American out of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

The addition of Morris, Raulušaitytė and Williams gives Burke 10 players on the 2026-27 roster. The breakdown by position: Five guards, three forwards and two post players.

As a Freshman at Maryland (2025-26): 

  • Saw action in 24 games and scored in double figures in 3
  • Added 4 points, a three made, with 3 steals and 4 boards in first career game vs. Loyola
  • Went 2-2 from the floor, 6-6 from the free throw line for 10 points vs. Towson
  • Went 3-4 from the floor and 6-7 at the foul line for 12 points with 8 boards vs. Bethune-Cookman
  • Scored 12 points with 7 boards and 3 assists vs. Mount St. Mary’s
