Southpaw Jackson Kent, who was with Arizona from 2022 to 2024, made his first start at the Triple-A level Saturday after his promotion from Double-A by the Washington Nationals. He pitched five solid innings to notch the win for Rochester (N.Y.) over the Boston Red Sox’s affiliate Worcester (Mass.). He had four strikeouts while allowing two unearned runs on three hits. Kent was 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA in 30 2/3 innings with Double-A Harrisburg (Pa.) before his promotion. He had 38 strikeouts and only eight walks with a 0.88 WHIP.
