Former Nogales infielder Demetrio Crisantes, who signed with the Arizona Wildcats before opting to chase his pro dreams with the Arizona Diamondbacks, had a June to remember. The Diamondbacks’ No. 5 prospect hit for the cycle during Double-A Amarillo’s 18-4 rout of the Frisco RoughRiders on June 8. It was the first home cycle for the Sod Poodles since the organization rebranded in 2019. With two outs in the third, Crisantes belted his fourth Double-A homer to left-center. In the fifth, against former Arizona right-hander Anthony Susac, the 21-year-old smacked a double off the center-field wall, driving in his second and final run of the game. The following inning, he hit a triple off the center-field wall. In the eighth, Crisantes hit a single to complete the cycle. Crisantes, who scored three times, improved his average to .361 and OPS to 1.118 in his 21st game of the season for Amarillo after coming off a hamstring injury that kept him in rehab to start the spring. During the 2025 season, Crisantes was excelling before suffering a posterior labral tear in his left shoulder that required season-ending surgery in May. Across three levels this season, the Arizona native has slashed .340/.448/.650 with six homers, and now, one cycle.
