Sunnyside sophomore Jack Thrush and senior Gabriel Fimbres and Marana junior Leland Frost posted winning records in their competition at the 2026 U.S. Marine Corps Junior National Greco-Roman competition that concluded Wednesday at the Fargodome at Fargo, N.D.
Thrush reached the quarterfinals of the winners’ bracket of the 16U 106-pound competition. He finished 3-2 with his matches.
Fimbres went 5-2 in the Junior 285-pound bracket. He won two matches in the winners’ bracket before topping three wrestlers in the consolation bracket.
Frost won a match in the 16U 106-pound winners’ bracket and two in the consolation bracket to finish 3-2.

The girls begin their freestyle competition on Thursday with the finals Saturday with eight from Southern Arizona competing, including Pueblo’s three-time state champion Elizabeth Valenzuela Smith.
