The Tucson Youth Football and Spirit Federation (TYFSF) City Championships were held Saturday at Tucson High School and six league championship were handed out from 8U to 13U.
The Raiders beat the Oro Valley Dolphins 36-6 to win the 13U championship, The Sahuarita 49ers beat the Oro Valley Dolphins 12-8 to win the 12U championship and the Falcons beat the Raiders 39-0 to win the 11U championship.
In earlier action, the Southwest Rams beat the Oro Valley Dolphins 20-0 to win the 8U championship. The Rams competed with three big running backs with Anakin Rivera collecting 63 yards on 13 carries, Patrick Pina, III adding 62 yards on 21 carries and Adrianno Santa Maria putting up 55 yards on 14 carries. Each RB scored a touchdown in the victory.
The Oro Valley Dolphins were led by RB Xailen Stringfield. Stringfield finished the game with 74 yards rushing on 14 carries.
The Southwest Rams beat the Steelers 32-6 to win the 9U championship and the Rams did it behind a couple play makers in Keanu Romero and Jaylee Abraham. Romero rushed for 138 yards on 21 carries including a 39-yard TD score and Abraham had 64 yards rushing on eight carries with scoring runs of 16 yards, 18 yards and 14 yards. Oscar Flores ran the ball in from 5-yards out to round out the scoring for the Rams.
Jeffrey Smith scored a 5-yard TD for the Steelers. Smith and Jake Bondi combined for 46 yards rushing for the Steelers.
The Scorpions beat the Marana Broncos 26-6 in 10U action on the back of several big plays. Mariano Blackwell started the scoring off for the Scorpions with an 86-yard pass to Dylan Robinson. Robinson also scored on a 19-yard run and a 51-yard run to finish with 110 yards rushing on 13 carries.
Kadin Thomas ran a kickoff 63 yards to keep the Scorpions ahead after Liam Lewis scored from 6-yards out for the Broncos. Mythias Holguin finished with 33 yards rushing and Darian Dewitt added 24. Lewis threw for 48 yards and Jude Luckow had 37 yards receiving. Dante Hardin had an interception for the Scorpions.
