Former University of Arizona standout Brandon Sanders will be coaching the defensive backs of the Tucson Sugar Skulls according to a release put out by the Tucson franchise of the Indoor Football League (IFL) on Monday.
Sanders was a major part of the famed “Desert Swarm” defense before playing with the Giants in the NFL. More recently, Sanders earned the Vern Friedli Head Coach of the Year Award for his final season with the Pueblo Warriors.
Sanders led Pueblo from 2014 to 2019.
Former Arizona tight end Glenn Howell is the strength and conditioning coach for the Sugar Skulls. Pueblo hired former Ironwood Ridge standout and Mountain View assistant Jake Allen to replace Sanders.
