Southern Arizona Class of 2021 Football Scholarship Offers

A total of 82 known Southern Arizona football players in the Class of 2021 have received scholarship offers to play football at the collegiate level.

Thirteen schools have at least three players in which a college has offered a scholarship.

  • Cienega 14
  • Walden Grove 6
  • CDO 5
  • Ironwood Ridge 5
  • Sabino 5
  • Salpointe 5
  • Sunnyside 5
  • Tucson 4
  • Buena 4
  • Sahuaro 4
  • Marana 4
  • Mountain View 3
  • Nogales 3

A total of 48 players have committed or signed with a football program (Sahuarita’s Gabe Elias has committed to Dixie State’s wrestling program):

Notable:

  • Santa Cruz RB/LB Hunter Ogle, who led the Dust Devils to their first Class 2A state title in 30 years, is headed to Simpson College, an NCAA Division III program at Indianola, Iowa. He will join Sunnyside WR Anthony Galvez and Walden Grove RB Stephen Brower Jr. and WR Alex Culbertson. Ogle earned an Ed Doherty Award nomination following a 42-18 win over Coolidge in Week 2, in which he helped the Dust Devils improve to 2-0 by rushing 21 times for 251 yards and four touchdowns. In the state championship game against Benson, he rushed for 244 yards and three scores, finishing the year with 2,096 yards and 25 TDs. He eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark on a 59-yard TD run.

Ogle averaged 10.5 yards per carry and 209.6 yards per game in a historic season, physically dominating the competition with power and speed. He was also an intimidating presence at linebacker.

  • Nogales LB Rene R. Urias Jr., a big body at 5-foot-6 and 200 pounds, recovered a fumble last season and returned it 73 yards for a touchdown. Grinnell College is an NCAA Division III program in Iowa.
  • Ten Cienega players have made commitments and signed: WR Caleb Kidney (Western New Mexico), RB/S C.J. Flores (NAU), LB/RB Josiah Flores (Fort Lewis), RB Gabe Levy (Mary), WR/DB Charles Hamm III (Jamestown), DT Hunter Schlagel (Western New Mexico), LB Isaiah Webb (Western New Mexico), SS Sebastian Felix (Drake), C Andrew Husfelt (Washburn) and QB Ryan Swoger (South Dakota State).
