Rio Rico senior cross country runner Jorge Trujillo, the runner-up last year in the D-III state meet, captured first place of the Eye of the Tiger Cross Country Invitational at Marana Oct. 22 in a personal-best time of 15:21.6.

The performance follows his victory in the 30th Annual Los Mezquites Invitational cross-country race in September. He finished that course in 17:54, 29 seconds ahead of the second-place runner.

His continued success, including a personal-best time in the Eye of the Tiger meet, merits Trujillo the Jet Sports Training Male Athlete of the Month honor for October.
