Tucson Saguaros to face Trinidad (Colo.) Triggers in Pecos League Mountain Division final series

The Tucson Saguaros dispatched of the Garden City (Kan.) Wind in two games in the opening round of the Pecos League playoffs and are now set for their next opponent, the Trinidad (Colo.) Triggers, starting Sunday at 7 p.m. at Kino Stadium in the Mountain Division final best-of-three series.

The Saguaros (35-13) — the regular-season Mountain Division champions — anticipated second-place Alpine (Texas) Cowboys to be their opponent in the division final.

But the Trinidad (Colo.) Triggers (30-19) prevailed at Alpine with a 10-3 win on Thursday in the third game of a best-of-three series.

The winner between Tucson and Trinidad advances to the Pecos League championship against the Pacific Division champion San Rafael (Calif.) Pacifics in a best-of-three series. That series starts Wednesday at San Rafael (41-8).
