A deep thigh bruise cost Trevin Wade two starts in the middle of the 2010 season, his junior season, after he compiled nine interceptions in his freshman and sophomore seasons.

As a senior, a lower leg injury affected him twice during the season. He had only three interceptions as a junior and senior. His academics also suffered after his thigh injury as a junior.

“I got injured and, school-wise, education-wise, things weren’t going good,” he told The Arizona Daily Star entering his senior year. “I was heading down the wrong path in my major, and I wasn’t on pace to graduate. That wasn’t good for me.

“I probably got caught up a little bit, playing for fans and not for God. People turned their backs on me last year. That’s part of the game. You just got to keep playing.”
