Ironwood Ridge sophomore Diana Nisbett was selected to play for the GB Cadette (Under-16) Girls’ Fastpitch Team that will take on 11 other countries at the 2017 European Cadette Championship held in Ostrava, Czech Republic from July 10-15.

GB finished fourth at the last European Cadette Championship, played in Sardinia in 2015, and as a result will be one of the top seeds in a tournament that will start with four round-robin groups of three teams each before moving to an eight-team playoff round and then to Page playoffs.

In the initial round-robin, GB will play France and Serbia in Pool D. Other countries competing will be the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia in Pool A; Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands in Pool B; and Russia, Ukraine and Poland in Pool C.

Nisbett is one of 14 athletes chosen to represent Great Britain and the British Softball Federation this summer.
