Fogg announces he will play professionally in China in 2017-18 season


Former Arizona Wildcats guard Kyle Fogg announced via Instagram today that he will play for the Guangzhou Long Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Fogg will enter is his sixth season of professional basketball with Guangzhou after playing in the NBA’s D-League with Rio Grande (Texas) as a rookie in 2012-13 and then in Finland (2013-14), Belgium (2014-15), Germany (2015-16) and Spain last season.

Fogg signed for a reportedly $2 million, two-year contract with Ghangzou.

“Extremely blessed for the opportunity to see a new continent!” Fogg writes in his Instagram post. “I will be playing for the Guangzhou Long Lions in China this year. Time to start brushing up on my Chinese lol. Special thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far. … Time to get to work.”

NBA D-League champion (2013) with Rio Grande.
First-team All-Pac-12 (2012) with the Wildcats.

Fogg also was part of the Overseas Elite winning team in consecutive year in The Basketball Tournament, which awarded teams $1 million in 2014 and $2 million in 2015. In the 2015 tournament, Fogg earned MVP honors. He took home $174,000 for winning the title that year.
