FC Tucson Women goalkeeper Lainey Burdett was named to the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) West Region Pac South All-Conference Team on Monday. Burdett is an All-Pac-12 keeper for the University of Arizona.
Burdett’s FC Tucson Women teammates Brooke Denesik, who played high school soccer at Anthem Boulder Creek and college soccer for Texas Tech, made the team as a defender. and Brianna Barreiro (UTEP) made the team as a midfielder. Barreiro played for Tucson Soccer Academy as a youth.
These All-Conference awards come on the heels of the WPSL rewarding FC Tucson Women head coach Amy Garelick by naming her Western Region Pac South Conference Coach of the Year. In addition, FC Tucson Women was named the “Franchise of the Year.”
