Saturday’s 19th Southern Arizona Baseball’s Next Level Scout Day held at Sahuarita High School drew about 20 scouts to watch some of the top local players, according to BNL executive director Bryan Huie, who is also an area scout for the New York Yankees.
Some big-league scouts were among the group from the Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets.
College scouts came from Minot State, Pima College, Cochise College, Central Arizona College, South Mountain College, Yavapai College, Gateway College, Paradise Valley College and Ottawa University in Phoenix.
Nogales’ Class of 2021 RHP Saul Soto, who had already committed to New Mexico State, took part in the scout day. The event produced commitments from many of the local standouts. Among them:
- Class of 2021 RHP Fernando Barreda of Sahuarita to Cochise.
Congratulations to BNL'S (RHP) 2021 graduate Fernado Barreda and his family on his commitment to play baseball for…
