Two future Arizona softball players — Vista (Calif.) Rancho Buena Vista High School Class of 2021 outfielder Paige Dimler and Salpointe Class of 2022 infielder Logan Cole — were part of the Team USA Blue that won the championship of the Triple Crown’s inaugural International Challenge at Westminster, Colo.
Team USA Blue defeated Team South Korea 4-2 on Sunday to claim the title. The team won all six of its games.
Logan, part of Salpointe’s back-to-back state champions, was the lead off hitter for Team USA Blue. She went 1 for 3 against South Korea.
Dimler singled and scored in the fourth inning for the game’s first run. She also reportedly made a great throw from center field to nab a runner trying to extend a hit to a double.
I sat down with #Arizona softball signee @DimlerPaige to talk about her coming to the Wildcats program and what that process was like. Here’s the full interview with Dimler. @FromthecityNY @InTheCircleSB #NCAASoftball https://t.co/oZpyojOWuu

Cole batted 9 of 16 (.563) in six games of the International Challenge with a home run and a double. Dimler was 8 of 17 (.471) with two home runs and two doubles.
Also taking part in the International Challenge over the weekend was Catalina Foothills graduate Carys Lynch, who will attend the University of San Diego.
Lynch was a member of Team Great Britain 18U. She played a significant part of her team reaching the Gold bracket before losing to Team USA Red.
