Former Tucson High standout Ana Rodriguez committed to play for New Mexico State after completing her career with Central Arizona.
“Ana is a tremendous competitor with a humble heart,” said New Mexico State head coach Kathy Rodolph said in a release. “She embodies everything we value in Aggie Softball: character, hard work and selflessness. She is also driven to help herself and her team be great. I can’t wait to coach her.”
-Garnered First Team All-ACCAC and First Team Division I All-Region honors in her final season with Central Arizona.
-Recorded 8.11 strikeouts per seven innings across 121.2 innings pitched on her way to turning in an impressive 19-2 record with a 2.99 earned run average on the season.
-Among ACCAC pitchers, she ranked inside the top five in wins, total strikeouts, strikeouts per seven innings and ERA.
-At the plate, Rodriguez managed a .425 batting average and a 1.361 OPS to finish as one of the top hitters on her team.
-Smashed 25 home runs to rank second in the ACCAC and first among Central Arizona hitters.
-Also led the Vaqueras in RBIs with 83 on the year, finishing with 22 more than the next closest -Central Arizona hitter while finishing second in the ACCAC.
-Included inside in the top 10 in the ACCAC in home runs, RBIs, runs, hits and total bases.
-Led the Vaqueras to the second round of the 2022 ACCAC Region I DI Tournament before falling to eventual regional champion Yavapai College.
