The Pima women beat Paradise Valley 4-1 Tuesday. Nayeli Vidal (Sahuaro) and Caitlyn Maher (Catalina Foothills) each scored two goals.
Vidal put the Aztecs on the board in the 12th minute. Maher assisted in the goal, which was her 11th assist of the season. Vidal made it 3-0 with her second goal in the 49th minute. Maher netted her first goal of the season in the 21st minute with an assist from Vidal. She made it 4-0 with another goal in the 64th minute. Alexus Mendez (Tucson) provided the assist.
Jayla Patrick scored for the Pumas in the 84th minute. Angelina Amparano (Salpointe) finished the game with six saves and Adriana Pacheco (Cienega) closed out the game with one save.
The Pima men beat Paradise Valley 1-0 in double overtime with Junyoung Hwang scoring inside the box on Aiden Oliver’s cross pass in the 107th minute (3:51 left). Cristian Sattin finished with four saves.
The win gave head coach David Cosgrove his 400th career victory at Pima. He is in his 26th season as head coach and has an overall record of 400-117-37.
