Hi Wildcat Fans!
There is so much that goes into the success of our program. Not only do we have a great team filled with players and coaches, but there are people behind the scenes that keep it running smoothly. If it weren’t for all of these people, our program wouldn’t be what it is today.
Paul Nagy is our Director of Operations and he makes sure we have what we need whether it be food before a game or our flights to games. His job addresses all components that enable our team to function at a high level. Some of these responsibilities include our travel arrangements, communicating with all people involved with our team, and providing us with food before, during and after games.
Tracy Oshiro is our athletic trainer and let’s just say that we wouldn’t have a team on the field if it wasn’t for her! She takes care of us physically, mentally, and helps us prepare for whatever we are about to do. I personally cannot thank Tracy enough for listening to me complain about my body and then helping me feel better. There are 18 players on our team and I would say every single one of us sees Tracy at least once a week to get worked on.
Emily Dwerlkotte is our equipment manager and she is the best of the best. If you’re a freshman, new on campus, and have no UA gear, Emily will give you what you need. We get suitcases every year filled with gear and she’s in charge of ordering it all, organizing it for us, and taking it to our locker rooms for us to take home. If I need another pair of cleats, extra sliding shorts, or more practice socks, Em will help us out and give us what we need. Not only is she like Santa, but she also prepares our uniforms for us, washes them, and packs them for us when we are on the road.
I have to talk about our team managers/GAs because they do so much work that people don’t notice. Greg McQuillin, Drew Calloway, Calie Sower and Holly Mason do things like hit fungo, pack our buses for road trips, shag during BP, catch bullpens, throw front toss and most importantly they have fun with the team which makes it such a great place to be.
These are just a few of the support staff that all go into providing a student-athlete the ultimate D1 experience. I love these people so much and I am so grateful for all that they have done throughout my career.
