Salpointe high-profile Class of 2024 defensive end Elijah Rushing will make his college choice known July 6 at Salpointe at 2 p.m., and Arizona is one of four finalists.
The others are Oregon, Notre Dame and Tennessee.
Rushing is a five-star prospect at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds who has been offered a scholarship by more than 35 Power 5 programs. He recently took official visits to Arizona, Notre Dame, Oregon and Tennessee.
His teammate Class of 2024 defensive end Keona Wilhite committed to Arizona last week.
Cruz Rushing, his older brother and former teammate with the Lancers, transferred to Arizona from Florida after last season. Cruz Rushing is a defensive back with four years of eligibility with the Wildcats.
Elijah Rushing is coming off a 2022 season in which he had 73 tackles, 13.5 for loss, including 11.5 sacks. He has 161 tackles, 24.5 for loss with 19 sacks in his three-year varsity career to this point.
