Sahuaro graduate Travis Cole was the winning pitcher and he also recorded a hit and two runs in the Tucson Saguaros’ 17-10 win at the Roswell (N.M.) Invaders on Monday night.
The victory extended Tucson’s winning streak to six games and improved its record to 29-9, two games ahead of second-place Trinidad (Colo.) Triggers (27-11) in the Mountain Division of the Pecos Independent Baseball League.
The Saguaros play Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Roswell (24-17) before having a day off Wednesday. They begin a three-game series at Kino Memorial Stadium on Thursday at 7 p.m. against the Alpine (Texas) Cowboys (25-16).
The series against the Cowboys is a preview to the opening round matchup of the Pecos League playoffs that start Aug. 1 at Kino Stadium.
Cole, who graduated from Sahuaro in 2018 before playing at NCAA Division II Campbell Brothers University at Memphis through this spring, scattered 11 hits and struck out six with two walks in five innings for Tucson on Monday night against Roswell.

- RF Kirkland Trahan (formerly of Delta State), 4 for 6, three runs, double, home run, three RBIs.
- CF Madison Santos (Single-A Tampa of New York Yankees organization last year), 3 for 6, three runs, two home runs, four RBIs. Santos, who has 11 home runs this season, is coming off winning the Home Run Derby of the Mountain Division All-Star Game Sunday at Alpine (see video below).
- 3B Brock Ephan (returned to Saguaros this season after playing in Tucson last year following career at Lewis-Clark State), 3 for 6, double, one run and one RBI.
- 2B Zachary Campbell (formerly of Tiffin University), 2 for 5, four runs, home run and RBI.
- 1B Gabe Ramos (formerly of Colorado Christian), 2 for 5, two runs, home run and three RBIs.
- SS Gavy Perez-Torres (formerly of University of the Southwest), 2 for 5, one run, home run and four RBIs.
