2023 football: 50 top Southern Arizona seniors — Empire LB/RB Jordan Naveunxay

Today marks only 18 days until the kickoff of the 2023 Southern Arizona high school football season with games scheduled Aug. 18. AllSportsTucson.com is listing 50 of the top seniors in Southern Arizona during this stretch. This is not a ranking. We acknowledge more than 50 quality seniors will play on high school fields locally this fall and we will report on them accordingly.

Jordan Naveunxay, 5-foot-4 and 130 pounds, is pound-for-pound one of the most dynamic players in Southern Arizona. He did everything for Empire last season — quarterback, running back, receiver, return kicks and punts, and play linebacker. … He tallied 63 tackles, six for loss, including four sacks, last season. He also caused three fumbles. … He passed for 158 yards and a touchdown, rushed for 222 yards on 69 carries with three touchdowns and caught 11 passes for 66 yards. … Selected to the All-4A Kino First Team as a linebacker by region coaches.

Empire coach George Kelly on Naveunxay: “Jordan is a dynamic player. He will be going in his third year as a varsity player. Plays both sides of the ball as a hybrid linebacker and wide receiver/running back. He is one of the most exciting players to watch play this game. He loves the game and makes plays.”
