Girls Golf: CDO and Cienega win on opening day

Canyon del Oro sophomore Madeline Decena shot a 5-over-par 40 to lead the Dorados (181) past Tucson (226) and Marana (235) Tuesday at the El Rio Golf Course. Canyon del Oro junior Zufan Girard came in with a round of 44 and Canyon del Oro sophomore Kennah Wujcik shot 46.

In other action, Cienega beat Buena 200 to 218 at the Del Lago Golf Club. Buena sophomore Kimberly Taylor and Cienega freshman Abby Chandler led the pack with equal rounds of 46 and Bobcat senior Samantha Smith shot 48.

Mica Mountain freshman Tyla Greenwood shot 40 at the Silverbell Golf Course, Mountain View junior Amber Hartung shot 46 and Mountain View junior Alyssa Brunsvold shot 47. Mica Mountain, Mountain View and Amphitheater did not score.
