Tanque Verde senior running back/linebacker Gavin Gilbert rushed for 172 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns and also had 12 tackles (one for loss) in the No. 11 Hawks’ significant 26-8 win at home over No. 12 Bisbee on Friday night.
Tanque Verde matched a program record with its sixth victory. The Hawks are 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the 2A San Pedro. They are tied in the loss column in the standings with Bisbee (5-3, 4-1) and Willcox (4-4, 3-1).
