Salpointe grad Dillan Baker of Pima is ACCAC Division Player of the Week

Pima Community College men’s basketball player Dillan Baker, a Salpointe Catholic graduate, earned his second nod of the season as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday

Baker, a freshman guard, helped the Aztecs go 3-0 against NJCAA Division I teams during the Aztec Holiday Classic last week.

Pima is 12-1 overall and 4-1 in ACCAC Region I.

The NAU signee averaged 19 points, 4 rebounds and 1.3 assists as the Aztecs defeated Bismarck (ND) State College 107-62, No. 5 Snow (Utah) College 83-79 and McLennan (Texas) Community College 83-80.

Baker shot 44 percent from the field and went 12 for 14 (.857) from the free throw line. He has played and started in all 13 games this season and is leading the Aztecs with 19.2 points per game.

The Aztecs visit Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday in conference action. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
