Former Nogales High School shortstop Demetrio Crisantes, who was selected in seventh round (198) of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, was promoted Monday to Single-A Visalia (Calif.) after excelling with the club’s rookie team in the Arizona Complex League in the Phoenix area. He batted .355 with seven doubles, five triples, home run, 10 stolen bases and 20 RBIs in the ACL. Crisantes was recruited to Arizona by Chip Hale out of Nogales but decided to sign with the Diamondbacks for an estimated $250,000. Crisantes led the Apaches to a 31-4 record his senior year with a second-place finish in the state playoffs while batting .485 with 26 RBIs, 15 doubles, four triples and seven home runs (Arizona Diamondbacks photo)
