Bisbee senior dual-threat quarterback and standout safety Sebastian Lopez has led the Pumas to a seven-game winning streak and 9-1 overall record heading into Friday’s first round of the 2A state playoffs.

The No. 6 Pumas will host No. 11 Camp Verde at 7 p.m. behind the two-way threat of Lopez, who has more than 2,000 yards passing (2,135), almost 1,000 yards rushing (962) and has produced seven interceptions and 77 tackles as a safety.

He has completed 136 of 210 passing attempts (64.8 percent) with 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He is averaging 11.5 yards per carry with 11 touchdowns.

Lopez led Bisbee to a 4-0 record in October as part of the seven-game winning streak.

For his effort in the month and overall, Lopez is the Jet Sports Training Male Athlete of the Month for October.
