Tucson has reached eight wins in a season for the first time since 1973 and is in the playoffs for the first time since Argraves coached them that far in 2016. … Tucson’s last playoff win occurred in 1971 when the Badgers won the state title with an 11-1 record. That was also the last time the Badgers won at least nine games. … Tucson has lost seven consecutive playoff games dating to the 1971 season. … Cienega leads the series 6-1 over Tucson, dating to the 2015 season. … The Bobcats did not get into the playoffs the previous two seasons when finishing 5-5 but got in this year with that record. … Cienega coach Justin Argraves makes a return to Gridley Stadium after coaching the Badgers for 10 seasons. … The Bobcats lost 13-7 at Tucson earlier this season. … Cienega college commitments: None.
