Sahuaro senior guard Cisco Llamas looks like a perfect fit to join Brian Peabody’s high-scoring program next year at Pima Community College.

Llamas, who has signed with Pima, scored 163 points in seven games (averaging 22.3 points) in January for the Cougars, who went 6-1 in the month and now rank No. 8 among 4A schools in the state at 17-2 overall and 3-0 in the 4A Kino.

Llamas stands at 1,915 points in his career, close to becoming the first Sahuaro player to eclipse 2,000 points.

In a showdown with Cienega (No. 4 in 5A) last week at home, Llamas finished with 22 points to lead the Cougars to a 70-55 victory.

For his dominating performance in January, Llamas is the Jet Sports Training Male Athlete of the Month.
