Members of the Southern Arizona media (TV, print, online and the Arizona Bowl), who watched games in person every week, voted on the football awards for Southern Arizona with the awards to be presented in early January on the University of Arizona campus. Exact plans will be given to the recipients when they are solidified.
Immediate family members and coaches will be invited to the short presentation with interview possibilities.
The unique awards well be constructed by The Lost Highway Sign Company. The plan is to have Southern Arizona male and female basketball, soccer and wrestling award for the winter. Also, the football awards will be whittled down to an MVP and a coach with a full first and second team announced for next fall.
Liberty standout quarterback Navi Bruzon won the statewide Ed Doherty Award last week and the Southern Arizona Media award recognizes those athletes from the Old Pueblo and the surrounding areas.
