Mountain View coach Matt Johnson, who led Ironwood Ridge to a state title in 2012, has the Mountain Lions in the postseason for the first time since 2019. The program is trying to win its first playoff game since 2012 (it has lost five consecutive games in the postseason). … Mountain View is 0-4 against Cactus in the playoffs in 1990, 1991, 1994 and 1997. … Mountain View RB Nicholas Horrocks, who has 1,969 yards rushing the last two seasons, is also the Mountain Lions’ punter and has shown a deft passing touch. In halfback-option pass plays this season, he is 3 of 5 for 87 yards. … Cactus college commitments: None. Mountain View commitments: None.
