Todd Holthaus, who led Pima Community College to its first national title this season, was named the NJCAA Division II National Coach of the Year on Thursday.

The 19-year coach at Pima earned the award for the first time.

The Aztecs defeated Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Kirkwood 64-58 in the championship game last month. The Aztecs finished with a 30-4 record, the first 30-win season in program history. They also closed the season with an 18-game winning streak.

Holthaus Honors/Achievements

— 2025-26 NJCAA Division II National Coach of the Year

— 2025-26 NJCAA Division II Coach of the National Tournament.

— Earned his third selection as ACCAC Division II Coach of the Year (2009, 2016, 2026)

— Ninth selection as NJCAA West District Coach of the Year (2009, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2025, 2026).

— Won his 400th career game at Pima when his squad defeated Yavapai College 99-55 on Nov. 4.

— Career record of 429-180 in 19 seasons.

— Won nine Region I, Division II/West District Championships and 10 overall, including the Southwest District Championship in 2020-21.

— Won 20 or more games in 10 straight seasons (excluding the 2020-21 COVID-19 season) and posted double-digit victories in the ACCAC conference since the 2008-09 season.

— Coached 21 of the 22 women’s basketball NJCAA All-Americans and has produced an All-American in 16 of his 19 seasons.
