Peat had mixed reviews during the recent NBA Draft Combine and is projected by most draft prognosticators as being a late first-round pick. Those projections reportedly are not deterring his desire to prove his worth in the NBA.
He is coming off a productive season, which included a selection to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team and All-Big 12 Third Team. He averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
The Chandler Perry product came out strong from the start, scoring 30 points in his collegiate debut against defending national champion Florida in the season opener.
He also ended the year on a productive note, scoring in double figures in Arizona last six games, which included the Big 12 conference title game over Houston (21 points) and the five games in the NCAA tournament, culminating with the Final Four game against Michigan (16 points and 11 rebounds).
Peat is a proven winner, leading Perry to four state titles and then being a major force behind Arizona earning the Big 12 regular season and conference tournament championships.
The Wildcats’ trip to the Final Four was their first in 25 years.
