Look at it this way: Jason Terry is 35, a 13-year NBA veteran, and he is still managing to get the most out of opponents, even LeBron James.
The phrase “posterized” applies to Terry, who fell under James when the Miami Heat star delivered a thunderous one-hand alley-oop dunk in the Heat’s 105-103 victory at Boston on Monday night. Miami won its 23rd consecutive game, but Terry is not impressed. He said so before the game. Hence, James’ non-verbal taunt by standing over the fallen Terry and staring down at him.
James was whistled for a technical foul and Terry made the free throw at the other end.
After Boston’s loss, Terry continued to show his disdain for Miami.
“This was a self-inflicted game here that we lost,” Terry was quoted as saying by MassLive.com. “So give them credit, they’ve won however-many in a row.
“I hope they lose the rest.”
Terry was one of the more outspoken players of Arizona’s 1996-97 NCAA championship team. He was part of the Arizona’s 30-5 team the following season that enjoyed a 19-game winning streak as the defending champion. Miami is the defending NBA champion and is on a similar historic run.
That does not mean Terry must be in awe.
“Not really impressed with it or anything that they do,” Terry told the media about Miami’s streak.
Speaking of winning streaks, Denver has increased its to 12 thanks to a three-point shot Monday with 7.1 seconds left in overtime by former UA forward Andre Iguodala. The Nuggets held on to defeat host Chicago 119-118.
