Friday, Nov. 25

Rincon/UHS 43, Marana 42
Rincon held on to defeat Marana 43-42. The Tigers had several chances to take the lead at the end but could not convert. Sophomore Lela Garcia led the Rangers with 19 points and 6-foot senior Tatiana Nzeukou added 12. Junior Alyssa Perez scored 13 for Marana and 6-3 senior Quinnesha Mitchell added eight.

Canyon del Oro 66, Empire 51
Senior guard Leila El-Ali led the Dorados with 19, junior Shania Lopez scored 14 and Hope Hisey added 13. Empire sophomore guard Emily Shreves led all scorers with 26 points and fellow sophomore Makenzie Elkins scored 15.

Sahuaro 62, Nogales 44
Junior Shayla McCraney scored 17 points to lead Sahuaro over Nogales. Senior standout Elena Arriaga added 15 and junior Carina Mendoza scored 13. Juniors Lori Tapia and Kianna Vasavilbaso scored 16 points each for Nogales. The Apaches are coached by former All-Star Yahaira Sanchez. She is in her first year.

Pueblo 74, Buena 32
Junior Alicia Reyes hit five 3-pointers to help lead the Warriors past Buena. Reyes finished with 17 points, senior Araceli Loya scored 13 and junior Alba Urena added 11. Junior Anysia Romo scored 10 for Buena.

Sunnyside 56, Rio Rico 53
The Blue Devils beat Rio Rico 56-53 to advance to the final of the “Bronze Bracket.” Junior Daisy Cornidez scored 20 points in the win. Junior Beatriz Hernandez and freshman Gisselle Gonzales scored nine points each. James Jackson is in his first year at Sunnyside. Junior Lizbeth Cruz scored 14 to lead Rio Rico. Sophomore Mina Rodriguez added 12 and senior Mayra Aguilar scored 11.

Nogales 50, Empire 35
The Apaches will face Sunnyside in the final of the Bronze Bracket Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Vasavilbaso scored 16 points for Sunnyside and Shreves scored 15 for Empire.

Salpointe 38, Palo Verde 36
The Lancers advanced to the final of the “Silver Bracket” with a 38-36 win over Palo Verde. Sophomore Diana Montano hit a jumper in the final moments to put Salpointe up for good. Montano finished with eight points. Senior Carolina Pisani scored 11 to lead Salpointe. Palo Verde sophomore Aaliyah Ortiz scored 16 points.

Marana 53, Buena 31.
The Tigers will face Salpointe in the Silver Bracket final at 11:30 a.m. Perez scored 18 points for Marana and Shayleigh Eddy scored nine for Buena.

Canyon del Oro 55, Sahuaro 53
The Dorados came back from a 10-point deficit to advance to the final of the “Gold Bracket” Saturday at 1 p.m. McCraney scored 15 for Sahuaro and El-Ali scored 24 for the Dorados.

Rincon/UHS 51, Pueblo 44
The Rangers will face Canyon del Oro in the Gold Bracket final. Garcia and Briana Dawson scored 12 points each while Reyes hit six 3-poimters to finish with 18 points for Pueblo.
