Arizona Wildcats’ Class of 2016 greatest recruiting needs

Sean Miller’s lone verbal commit for the Class of 2016 to date is five-star power forward T.J. Leaf, who at 6’9″ and 210 pounds has the size and ability to handle the position especially facing the basket.

Leaf choose Arizona because of Miller’s tendency to allow the power forward to be versatile inside and outside of the lane, as evidenced by the skills of Brandon Ashley and Grant Jerrett in recent years.

Potentially bolstering the power forward position for the Class of 2016 are post players Chance Comanche or Dusan Ristic if Miller wants to go to a larger lineup.

After losing seniors Kaleb Tarczewski, Ryan Anderson and Mark Tollefsen from next season’s team, Miller will need more than only Ristic, Comanche and Leaf in the frontcourt heading into 2016-17.

In-state recruit Mitch Lightfoot and Michael Cage Jr., another potential signee from the Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei program, would bolster that frontcourt nicely.
