Central Michigan sophomore outfielder Allison Curtis (Salpointe) led CMU with an outstanding six-game performance at the plate during a spring trip to Florida with 11 hits, five RBI and a .579 batting average. She posted at least two hits and one run in each game except for one. Curtis scored three times which help propel Central Michigan to a 10-2 five inning victory over Butler on Wednesday. She tallied three hits, including two triples during Saturday’s win over Army. The sophomore closed the spring break trip with two hits, including a double, and two RBI in a 4-2 win over USF. Curtis co-leads the team with a .391 batting average, hits (25) and RBI (9). Curtis led the Chippewas during spring break with a .500 batting average, 18 hits, 10 runs, eight RBI and three triples.
This list was updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who had gone on to achieve either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but college and professional awards. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS. If you are aware of anything I have missed along the way, please let me know.
