Two-time defending state champions Ironwood Ridge girls golf team won the One-Off Invitational title held last week at Phoenix’s Papago Golf Course and one of the top Nighthawks — junior Zoe Newell — stood out from the rest.
Newell finished first with a 6-under-par 138. She earned the honor of being the Jet Sports Training Female Athlete of the Month.
Newell, one of the top juniors golfers in the state, was the D-II state runnerup with the Nighthawks last year.
