Ironwood Ridge sophomore golfer Brasen Briones put together an incredible 8-under 138 to become the Nighthawks' first boys state champion in school history on Oct. 26 at Omni National.
Briones is also the first boys champion from the Tucson area since 2016. He will be part a large contingent of golfers competing for the top sport next year with only three seniors finishing in the top 10.
He fired a 4-under 69 in each round to capture the championship.
