Sunnyside’s Nathaly Bracamonte is a first-place finisher in a cross country invitational this fall while also playing for the Blue Devils’ unbeaten flag football team. During the winter, she plans on playing soccer again and turn to long-distance running events during the track and field season in the spring.
Bracamonte has won two meets against other local high schools this fall in addition to placing first in Sunnyside’s Los Mezquites Invitational on Sept. 13. She ran the 5,000-meter course in a personal-best time of 19:03.07.

Following meets and cross country practices, she joins Sunnyside’s flag football team, which is 5-0 overall heading into the school’s fall break. The Blue Devils next play Oct. 14 against Mountain View.
For her winning performances in cross country and contributions to the flag football team as a rusher and wide receiver, Bracamonte is the Jet Sports Training Female Athlete of the Month for September.
Congratulations to Nathaly Bracamonte who places 1st at tonight’s XC meet! This is Nata’s 3rd win of the season. 1 hour later she’s also dominating on the field, helping her team to another win. An absolute beast on the field & on the trail! #DistanceDevil #LM25 @SHSDevilSports pic.twitter.com/B4DiK5H5Ev
