Bruce Pascoe, who is covering the trials for The Arizona Daily Star, puts incoming recruit Stanley Johnson at a level above the others competing at Colorado Springs.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman verifies that Johnson has been one of the top performers.

Arizona Class of 2015 commits Justin Simon and Tyler Dorsey — the Wildcats’ potential backcourt in 2015-16 or 2016-17 — did not make the final cut of 15. Simon, however, has incredible measurements for a point guard.

Rumors have circulated in Colorado Springs this week that Dorsey is wavering with his commitment to Sean Miller’s program. Dorsey did not put an end to those rumors with his comments to Jerry Meyer, including his reaction to the news of Arizona offering a scholarship to Rockville (Md.) shooting guard Allonzo Trier.

Trier is transferring to Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep for his senior season. Count on reports of Trier during the 2014-15 season. I live less than a mile from the Findlay facility. Committed to offering more reports from Findlay stars potentially headed to Arizona.

Looks like Duke’s fans are hopeful of a Dorsey de-commit after Dorsey was cut and Trier made the final 15. The thing is Miller’s system allows for plenty of playing time. With growth, Dorsey can extend to wing. Too early to tell.

Miller’s wife, Amy Miller, has an appropriate Twitter handle: @abballwidow. She is understanding of the demands placed on her husband.
