FC Tucson/Arizona keeper Lainey Burdett named WPSL PAC South Player of the Week

FC Tucson Woman goalkeeper Lainey Burdett was named the WPSL Week 6 Player of the Week for the PAC South Conference on Saturday. The University of Arizona senior keeper recorded seven saves in a 1-0 victory at conference-leading LA Galaxy San Diego on Sunday, June 17.

At Arizona, Burdett earned her second career Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week (Oct.3, 2017) after she collected a career-high 11 saves and giving up only one goal against No. 2 Stanford and blanked No. 11 Cal with four saves. Burdett also earned Pac-12 Second Team honors for her junior season.

FC Tucson midfielder Mariel Gutierrez was named Week 4 PAC South Player of the Week after she recorded two goals and two assists in three matches. Gutierrez is a senior at the University of Northern Colorado.
