With Gilbert Christian’s Mitch Lightfoot unsurprisingly committing to Kansas yesterday, where does Arizona stand with other Class of 2016 recruits?
Presently, Sean Miller and his staff have only the commitment of high-profile Finland power forward Lauri Markkanen.
Here are more Class of 2016 that are among Arizona’s targets:
— Josh Jackson, shooting guard/small forward, Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep. Consensus No. 1-rated recruit nationally by recruiting services is recruiting priority No. 1 for Miller.

— De’Aaron Fox, point guard, Katy (Texas) Cypress Lakes. He cancelled a visit to Arizona this month and is reported to be considering Kansas and Kentucky the most.
— Andrew Jones, shooting guard, Irving (Texas) MacArthur. Arizona is in hot pursuit with Jones visiting Arizona twice, unofficially and officially. He wanted to go to the Red-Blue Game with his father but couldn’t because his high school was celebrating homecoming. He’s also considering Louisville, Texas and Baylor, among others.
Those are the biggest names. Obviously, if Miller and his staff can sign Markkanen, Jackson and Jones, that would be a top five class nationally. Arizona is in good standing with Jackson and Jones it appears.
With as many as four scholarships to fill, if Miller signs those three, he may go after another graduate transfer in the spring.
