He was a first-team All-American as a junior with Arizona in 2001 and he experienced a 12-year pro career. After his second-round selection by the Yankees in 2001, Duncan made his major-league debut with them in 2007. He played in the majors with New York, Cleveland and Tampa Bay until 2013.
Duncan hit a school-record 55 home runs in 144 starts at Arizona. He was also a lifetime .322 hitter with the Wildcats.
His professional exploits continue as manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Class A affiliate in Hillboro, Ore.
